Chakras

The word Chakra is Sanskrit for "Wheel of Life", and refers to the energy centers which connect our Soul to our Body. Each Chakra represents a  specific area of the body or mind or emotions. There are seven major Chakras which we focus on in our body, however there are dozens more which reside around our body, in the atmosphere, and in the Universe. We will, however, focus on the main Chakras as these are the ones we are most in tune with at this time.

The Chakras, or energy centers, act as pumps which regulate the flow of energy through our energy system. The functioning of the Chakras reflects internal alignment, and choices which we make concerning how we respond to external elements and  conditions in our life. We open and close these valves when we decide what to think, and what to feel, and through which perceptual filter we choose to experience the world around us.

Chakras are not physical, rather they are ethereal elements. The seven main Chakras we work with at this time are:

Crown Chakra  - Divine Connection, located at the top of the head.

Brow Chakra  - Third Eye, located between the brow.

Throat Chakra - Vocal expression, located in the throat.

Heart Chakra  - Feeling Center, located at the breastbone.

Solar Plexus Chakra - Emotional Center, located above belly button.

Sacral Chakra - Survival and Human Instincts, located below belly button.

Root Chakra - Physicality and materialism, located at below sex organs.

Each Chakra is represented by a color, and has it's own distinct vibration. Here is a list of each Chakra in relation to it's color & physical attribute:

Crown Chakra  - Violet. Top of head, brain, nervous system.

Brow Chakra  - Indigo blue. Forehead, temples.

Throat Chakra - Sky blue. Throat, neck, arms, hands.

Heart Chakra  - Green.  Blood, lungs, heart, vascular system.

Solar Plexus Chakra - Yellow. Muscles & skin, stomach, liver, and face.

Sacral Chakra -  Orange. Reproductive system, endocrine glands.

Root Chakra - Red. Lymphatic system, bladder, prostate (in men) feet & legs.

All of your senses, all of your perceptions, all of your possible states of awareness, everything it is possible for you to experience, can be divided into seven categories. Each category can be associated with a particular Chakra. Thus, the Chakras represent not only particular parts of your physical body, but also particular parts of your consciousness.

When you feel tension in your consciousness, you feel it in the Chakra associated with that part of your consciousness experiencing the stress, and in the parts of the physical body associated with that Chakra. Where you feel the stress depends upon why you feel the stress. The tension in the Chakra is detected by the nerves of the plexus associated with that Chakra, and transmitted to the parts of the body controlled by that plexus. When the tension continues over a period of time, or to a particular level of intensity, the person creates a symptom on the physical level.

The symptom speaks a language that reflects the idea that we each create our reality, and the metaphoric significance of the symptom becomes apparent when the symptom is described from that point of view. Thus, rather than saying, "I can't see," the person would describe it as keeping themselves from seeing something. "I can't walk," means the person has been keeping themselves from walking away from a situation in which they are unhappy. And so on.

The symptom served to communicate to the person through their body what they had been doing to themselves in their consciousness. When the person changes something about their way of being, getting the message communicated by the symptom, the symptom has no further reason for being, and it can be released, according to whatever the person allows themselves to believe is possible.

The above illustration shows an additional Chakra, called the Ascending Heart Chakra. This center is becoming more active in First and Second wavers experiencing Ascension, and can  be related to body tremor, and a rising upwards of the Love energy from Heart to Throat - in other words, speaking from a place of compassion and love.

Working With Chakras

You can work with your Chakra centers, either separately or collectively, to balance your energy, and bring about a feeling of well being. The Chakras are energetic, and easily accessed via your thoughts, and focus, and visualization. Picturing the color red can help you connect to the vibration of your Root Chakra, for example. You can visually picture your Root Chakra as a red apple, or a shining red light, or imagine taking a bite from a red ripe strawberry. Whatever helps you to bring the visualization into clarity for yourself, follow your own intuition. I suggest using crystals or sea salts to help cleanse and balance your Chakras. Salt and quartz crystals are both conductors of energy, and can assist you in many ways when working with your Chakras. The recipe is: Intention + Focus = Balance.

If you are working with your Chakras and an emotion surfaces, do not brush it off, as it is not there by coincidence. If you begin to feel anger, or sorrow, or giddiness, simply follow the feeling, see where it originates from, explore how you feel, as it is indeed tied to whichever Chakra you were currently focused on. This form of communication via vision and emotion is your Chakras way of saying something is not in alignment and requires your attention. So pay heed to your body, and your emotions, as you are working with your Chakras.

Healing & Aligning Chakras

It is entirely normal to be "out of balance". Every day stress such as work, children, bills, responsibilities, are enough to knock our Chakras off kilter at the best of times. So when you are having your next relaxing bath, or meditation, or have a few moments to reflect within, intend to heal and align your Chakras. Intention is a powerful tool, so don't doubt yourself. If you intend to send a healing white light to all of your Chakras in order to clean out any negative energy, then know that the white light is not just symbolic; your Chakras will be showered with a healing white light just because you will it to be so.

Sometimes we will experience a massive blockage in a Chakra center, and no matter how much we intend or focus or meditate, we just can't seem to clear it up. That is ok, as some blocks are karmic, and relate to past lives, and require time and patience to align and balance. A wonderful way to cleanse and heal Chakras is by receiving Reiki Healing. You can either consult a  Reiki practitioner, or ask the Universe to bathe you in healing Reiki energy. Please note that Reiki is powerful Quantum energy, and before it can reveal a healing, it will bring much pain to the surface for you to acknowledge and release. This is a beautiful thing, because it will sit there waiting in your psyche to be let go until you do face it, so why keep putting it off? Best to clear out the dark spaces within now, so you can begin to heal.

As with anything else in life, follow your intuition when working with your Chakras. If it feels bad, stop, take a break, consult a friend or specialist of the holistic arts. And always ask for assistance from "Above", in the form of an Angel, or Ascended Master, or your Higher Self or Guides. You are never alone, you don't need to feel as though you are.

There is deep wisdom within our very flesh, if we can only come to our senses and feel it.  ~ Elizabeth A. Behnke
